Questions & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about buying, financing, trading in and looking after an Airstream.
Buying an Airstream
Where can I see an Airstream in person?
We have dedicated Airstream showrooms at Langley and Cowichan Valley in British Columbia, Airdrie in Alberta, and West Kelowna in British Columbia. Stock moves between Traveland locations, so the Locations page shows which lots have Airstreams on them right now.
Do you only sell Airstreams?
This site is Airstream and only Airstream. We're the Airstream side of Traveland RV, Western Canada's largest RV group and family-owned since 1977. If an Airstream isn't right for you, we'll say so and point you at the wider Traveland lineup.
Why does an Airstream cost more than other travel trailers?
It's built to be kept. The shell is riveted aluminum, the same aircraft-style construction Airstream started with, and it doesn't rot, delaminate or sag the way a bonded sidewall can. Roughly seventy percent of every Airstream ever built is still on the road, and they depreciate slower than anything else towable.
Which Airstream is right for me?
Every Airstream is the same riveted aluminum idea in a different size. What changes is length, layout and what you can tow: a Bambi fits a city parking spot and a Basecamp fits a trailhead. The best way to decide is to come stand inside a few. There's no rush.
Financing & Trade-In
Can I finance an Airstream?
Yes. We work with the major Canadian RV lenders and credit unions, so you fill in one application and we shop it around for you. Because an Airstream holds its value, longer amortizations are available than on most RVs. Getting pre-approved first means you know your number before you walk in.
Can I trade in my current RV?
Yes, Airstream or otherwise, paid off or not. Tell us the year, make, model and condition and we'll come back with a real figure, then confirm it with a quick look on the lot. The equity comes straight off your next Airstream, and if you still owe on it we handle the payout and paperwork. There's no obligation, and we buy outright too.
Will asking about financing affect my credit?
No. Starting a conversation isn't a credit application, and no inquiry touches your file until you sign off on it in writing.
What if my credit isn't perfect?
It's still a conversation. A past bankruptcy or consumer proposal, a thin credit file, or self-employed income that's hard to document doesn't end the discussion. It just changes which lender we start with.
Does an older Airstream still have trade-in value?
Usually a surprising amount. Riveted shells hold their money in a way bonded sidewalls don't, and there's a real market for restorable vintage units, so don't assume an older Airstream is worth nothing.
Service & Parts
Do you service Airstreams?
Yes. Our factory-trained technicians work on riveted aluminum every week: roof and seam resealing, annual and seasonal inspections, appliances, electrical and solar, plumbing and winterizing, and hitch and towing setup. Langley and Cowichan Valley also have full body shops for panel, dent and insurance repairs.
Do you ship Airstream parts?
Yes, anywhere in Canada. Send us the year, model and what broke (a photo is usually faster than a part number) and we'll confirm price and availability before anything is charged.
Do you handle Airstream warranty work?
Yes. We handle Airstream warranty claims in-house and deal with the factory ourselves, so you're not the one chasing it.
Can you find parts for a vintage Airstream?
Usually, yes. We order genuine parts straight from Airstream in Jackson Center, Ohio, and Airstream still supports old shells. Bring us the part number or the broken piece and we'll track it down.
